Beautyknot ~ My Skin Care Diary

Archive for the ‘Lipstick’ Category

I must say I was attracted by the gorgeous spoke person, Ayumi Lee, a Korean born in Japan, also known as former member of Sugar girl group. Her short hair looks amazingly elegant and classy. The overall presentation of Maquillage Rouge Enamel Glamour is simply magnificent.

Try the latest Maquillage cosmetic online via makeup stimulation by Shiseido, it is so much FUN.

This is non-fragranced 2-in-1 lipstick, a rouge (2.1g) on one end and a gloss (3.8g) on the opposite. My colour pick is PK386, a pink with hint of gold shimmer that looks very natural and lavish.

Surprisingly the fluid lipstick is lightweight yet very pigmented. It should be matted on bare lips quickly unless your lips are primed with lip conditioner/lip balm. Wait for the lipstick fully dried on lips, then apply the shiny gloss on centre part of lips to impart translucent 3D glow. The combination assures you enamel glamorous lips, despite the slight tackiness.

The lipstick is thumb-up long-wearing but the gloss was almost gone after having a meal. If you wear lip balm underneath, both lipstick and gloss would wear off totally after eating a proper meal. Anyway, I would be happy to show off the dazzling tube in makeup room for touch-up.

The lipstick is feeling dry (thus long-wearing), fortunately the gloss attracts moisture and diffuses the appearance of dry lip lines. It costs me ~USD30, not a budget purchase considering the tiny net content, it is rather a convenient and pretty one. Personally, I am still preferring even application of  lipstick, thus unlikely to purchase the similar product in future.

Clarins Joli Rouge

I have this beautiful product in a sample size as part of my GWP. When the beauty advisor shown me the color, I was afraid the shade simply too dark to my liking, but she assured me the color would never looked heavy on lips.

Clarins Joli rouge2

As the name it called, Brilliant, the beauty advisor is utterly right. The texture is really smooth and moisturizing, but the pigmentation is rather sheer, which I love actually. The pearly particle is also very fine, sweeping few more layers to impart intense sexy shimmering lips.

Clarins Joli Rouge3

I was not fond of shimmering lipstick, this is one of my exceptions. Love the flexibility that it can be sheerly applied for subtle appear or multi-layering for urging more attention. Due to the fine shimmers, lips looked well-moisturized, as well as less apparent lip lines. In real, the finish is much lovely than what I captured in my below attached testing pictures.

Clarins Joli rouge4

For the sheer pigmentation, this is unlikely to leave visible lip stain on cup. No noticeable fading if I only have a light meal, but would need a touch up after a main course. That happen to most lipstick I suppose. I have not tried other high end shimmering lipstick, so I have no idea how other does, but this is above average for sure.

Fancl lip pallete

Received the Fancl Lip Color Palette as GWP, appreciate Fancl here always gives fresh product (manufacturing date within 6 months) for GWP (based on my experience). Fresh period of the lip palette is 3 years from the manufacturing date, 1 year from the date opened.

Fancl lip palette content

The lip palette is vacuum sealed to preserve freshness due to product’s preservative free nature. The texture in the sturdy plastic container is creamy, silky smooth on lips but not enough moisturizing to me, contains shimmer-particles and easily pick up for application. Using finger is difficult to apply evenly, but I am still too lazy using lip brush for precise drawing.

Fancl lip palette swatches

The pigmentation is sheer that I need to layer multiple times to have visible color on lips, thus heavy feeling like I was putting Vaseline on. The fresh application looks subtle shinning and the color is pretty, unfortunately the lip is looking dry and magnifying lip lines in few minutes, partly because of my dry lips. Currently I like to apply this as a thin layer with fingers as tinted lip balm, it works fine so far without drying. The shinning film stays on quite well if I didn’t ‘disturb’ my lips, but almost totally gone after a meal.

Fancl lip palette1

For me, this is still acceptable for the quality packaging and the very natural beautiful color, compare to lipsticks and lip gloss, I just dislike the inconvenience of lip palette. Most importantly, it simply not moisturizing to me. The retail price of Fancl Lip Color Palette is 400 baht, total 15 shades of choice.

Given Long Last Lipstick in full size as part of my Clinique Bonus. The soft shine shade- Blushing Nude has shade of red and brown, more toward brownish.

It’s very frosty pigmented, quite moisturizing, and quite long-wearing. After a proper meal, the pigmentation still fairly exist until I wipe off my lips with tissue, also, it stains on cup obviously. For some reasons, the brownish shade reflects differently tone under various lightings, should be beautiful nude shade for those with sparkling pearl white teeth.

The Long Last Lipstick priced 700 baht in Thailand, I don’t think I’ll purchase it in future, for I’m more interested purchase a smoother texture of lipstick and I love Chanel Rouge Allure more.

Skinfood honey Glossy Rouge

Since I already have an elegant Chanel Rouge Allure, I was thinking to get another shimmering lipstick to try. This is very unusual for me as I never own more than a lipstick at one time. Yes! I’m not a makeup person. If you familiar with my cosmetic review, you might notice I like to treat them a multi-tasker.

When I was making my SkinFood haul in January, I purchased this on whim. The packaging is very attractive and very light-weighted, the price is cheap, the texture seems moisturizing, the color looks good, why not give it a try? I thought.

The peach shade of the Honey Glossy Rouge seems more pigmented than pink shade, and I want something more pigmented. The shade 683 looks very girlish on my lips yet it was difficult to apply evenly, and it gives me coarse feeling upon application than any lipstick that I have tried. I used this sheerly on lips few times and leave it aside inside drawer.

SF Honey rouge test

Test (with sunlight)

The glitters of the Honey Glossy Rouge are distinct and very long-lasting though the pigmentation didn’t seem long-wearing. I still found a lot of glitters upon my make-up removal after 10 hours rouge makeup without touch-up. The glitters might give different tones of the peach under various lighting.

This is very mediocre product to me anyway, low price at RM28, limited choice of shade.

What I love about Chanel cosmetic is they always make you feel exceptional. A little extra make a huge different.

What make this lipstick special is the ‘click’ designing. Like the picture guide ( attached below ) by Chanel, you may just ‘click’ the lipstick out of the container. Simple yet playful, I totally like that. A recent years research had done by Japan, playful, amusing cosmetic packaging will be future trend.

Apparently, the color of the Chanel Allure 24 Evocation is honest as you see in normal light. I mean, I get the exact color on lip as the lipstick color itself, very pigmented. The sales lady tested the 24 Evocation on my lips when I told her that I want a matted color which looks natural on me. I like the color and bought it instantly.

with sunlight

Interestingly, I have gotten slightly different colors on lips under different lighting. The fresh application is undeniably beautiful with little hint of gold, somehow it looks like my own lip color intensely, which I’m quite agree with its name – Evocation.
with dimlight

The texture of the lipstick is truly creamy, feeling soft, moisturizing ( though not enough in dry weather ), I immediately felt so even when I only tested on my hand. The creamy texture usually doesn’t long-lasting, the Chanel Allure 24 almost disappears on my lips after 2-5 hours depending how frequent I lick my lips. Drinking and eating also make the pigmentation fade away faster and it does leaves light red stain on cup.

I am kind of person who treat lipstick a multi-tasker like NARS The Multiple. I do use Rouge Allure for eye shadow and blusher! It’s too creamy to stay on eyelids and cause the eyeliner stays put, however it works perfectly as blusher, I really love how it stays on my cheek! But this method only suitable for dry skin.

For the price of RM96 for 3.5g, I expected more besides Chanel brand name quality and the ‘Click’ packaging idea. I must say the color is really beautiful no matter how you apply on, I was just hoping it could be long-wearing.
