Let me introduce my seven adorable fruit princesses from far far away…… love them all at the first sight and can’t help to adopt them all!

.

.

What TonyMoly said about this lip gloss ~ soft jelly polymer based, it applies smoothly to your lips without leaving sticky residue behind. It adds moisture to your lips and makes them look fuller.

.

.

In this post I’m going to review the #1 Scowling face strawberry princess only because I want to send the rest to my coming Giveaway! (“D) Hint Hint…nxt mth

.

Among the range, only #2 and #7 are shimmery.

.

I must say the lip gloss really lives up to its description. The gloss easily smoothed on lips, no sticky residue, scentless and very pigmented. It imparts dewy shine and feels very moisturizing on the lips too. As shown in below testing pictures, I just applied a single layer of the lip gloss and it gave me a nice touch-up.

.

.

The lip gloss is also quite long-lasting. After some drinking and having some snack/a meal, the shine wears off but the pigmentation is still visible. Comparing to the rest of lip glosses I have used, I love how this fruit princess gloss glides on lip flawlessly but considering the shade, high-end lip gloss obviously is a winner for me. For instance, fruit princess gloss #1 gives single colour tone – pinkish (Perhaps this is just what it meant for), where high-end Shiseido Maquillage Rouge Enamel Glamour gives dynamic variant according to different lighting. I think price does matter.

.

.

Nonetheless, I bet this fruit princess gloss is immensely eye-catching (“v). Haha, I just feel like to knock her head when I saw my strawberry princess’s scowling face. Hey my dear, What is in your mind? Why my little princess is unhappy? The face remembered me of naïve childhood too, I still don’t understand why I always had the grouchy face in picture when I was a small kid. (“b)

.

The green calyx of the strawberry (all other fruit princess) is rubber-made, thus soft.

.

Now I can see a reason why my little princess is unhappy…

.

Or when I twist her neck long,  heheh  (Happy Halloween btw)

.

TonyMoly Fruit Princess Gloss is retailing ₩6800/7ml in Korea, inexpensive and lovely, suitable for those who don’t like glittering lip gloss. Anyway I would like to keep this miniature (only 5cm tall) display on table either I’m no longer using it or after finished using it. Sorry, can’t help but again, so cute!

I wanted to get a replacement of the Diorshow mascara sample, and drugstore mascara was my primary choice. I was just being price-oriented and without thinking much, I got this L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes – Extra Black for €10 at Etos pharmacy in Netherlands. After all, I do have some confidence in L’Oreal mascara, not to say their discontinued Lancome Definicils mascara used to be my favorite.

The product label did not give much information, literally I could only recognize English word “Volume Million Lashes – Extra Black” on the product label. There were several versions of this mascara at the store but only “Extra Black” was having promotion at the time of purchase.

L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes claiming volumize and millionize lashes, inside the mascara tube it contains an excess wiper to remove excess mascara, thus no overload, no clumps.

The mascara wand is bendable and having soft bristles. I personally did not find any technically difference with unbendable wand for application.

This is non-waterproof, it can easily be removed by water. As circled in white in above attached picture (after removing the mascara by water),  you can see the mascara contains very fine shimmering particles. It normally “smudge-proof” since my eye area is quite drying however when skin became oilier it would smudged a little on the lower lashes. In fact, I would not purchase if I know it is non-waterproof beforehand because I felt more secure  with waterproof one.

∞ ▫ ∞  Testing   ∞ ▫ ∞

(I did not use eyelash curler for the testing pictures)

Minimum lengthening and volumizing, slightly up-lifting, well seperating.

(before) In initial usage, the excess wiper seemed to be useless, the mascara still overload and created a clumpy look.

(after) After several usage, the mascara became more drying, no more clumpy

.

As I have naturally spare and short lashes, almost all mascaras able to enhance my eyelashes. I quite liked the “feathery” eyelashes  by this L’Oreal Volume Million Lashesn but ignored this mascara after a month because the mascara became rather drying. Looking for new mascara now.

Brilliant À Lèvres Lip Gloss (#151, #183, #579)

I am addicted to these beautiful lip glosses! Besides, the lip liner is absolutely creamy and pigmented, it can be used as “lipstick” too!

+ Moisturizing and glossy

+ Very fine shimmer

+ Very natural finish

–  Need few layers to show some pigmentation

–  Not long-lasting that it wore off after a meal

–  started melting a little bit (in the palette) in hot humid weather

(From Left to Right) Mini Lip Liner Pencil (#513 Linen), Swatch of shade I, Swatch of shade II, Swatch of shade III

(From Left to Right)  Bare lips, Lips with I, Lips with II, Lips with III

Diorskin Forever Compact SPF25 PA++ ( #020 Light Beige )

A nice touch but not the best, basically I don’t like it for hot weather. For your info, I always use this powder compact with the Dior brush.

+ Moisturizing and non-drying

+ Very fine shimmer that hardly to be noticed in close distance

+ Very fine powder to create flawless makeup

+ Natural alike soft-illuminating finish

+ Natural looking with multi layers

+ Buildable sheer to medium coverage

+ Rarely caked on skin

+ No breakout or irritation

–  No coverage for pores

–  Non-mattifying for combination skin in hot humid day

–  Need touch-up in afternoon to blot off the excessive shine

–  Oily T-zone shined within an hour although no greasy touch

 —- ∞ Skin Chapter 1 ∞ —-

Skin primed with Kanebo Cofffret D’or makeup base, so the “before” skin shined a lot due to the shimmering particles of the makeup base that reflected direct sun light.

before = with the makeup base  ;   after = with Diorskin Forever Compact after the makeup base

—- ∞ Skin Chapter 2 ∞ —-

Tested the Diorskin Forever Compact on right face only.

Left = skin after the moisturizer ; Right = skin applied Diorskin Forever Compact right after the moisturizer

After 6 hours spent in cozy room temperature in hot humid day (consider balanced skin condition), no touch-up or blotting, the sheer coverage of Diorskin was still there. You might notice the right side (With Diorskin) has more shine because the fine shimmers of Diorskin reflected the sun light better.

Fards À Paupières (Eyeshadow) – 5 Colours Iridescent (#822-009, #959-042, #194-233) and Mini Crayon Eyeliner (#090 Black)

(From left to right) Crayon eyeliner, Eyeshadows (1,2,3), Diorshow mascara

The eyeshadows are creamy and glide on easily. I do need few heavy strokes to have visible pigmentation. I did not try many eyeshadows so obviously cannot justify, but I love how they looked on me. I had intense “makeup-look” with them, keeping my eyes more energized and sharp. They are quite long-wearing also, stay put whole day and non-drying.

The mini crayon eyeliner is soft and very pigmented on bare skin. However, the pigmentation looks ashy when drawn on the eyeshadows, please refer to the below attached picture for clear view. For that reason I actually prefer using gel eyeliner in this case. Moreover, it smudged a little bit when skin turned to be oily.

Diorshow Mascara (#090 Black)

I am not sure if the sample tube is identical with full-size version, it is rather drying. Overall it greatly disappointed me, a drugstore mascara works much better than it.

+ dried up quickly

+ smudge-proof (I used powder on eye area)

+ easy removal by cleansing oil

– minimum lengthening

– minimum curl up

– nothing dramatic (hence very “natural-looking”)

– bulky brush

Last but not least…

Ingredients (Eyeshadows)

Ingredients (Crayon Pencil and Diorshow Mascara)

Being a frequent flyer, I had been trying hard to keep things light for travel. As for cosmetics, I was always thinking how to compress everything that I need in a single pouch. That is not easy, a bulky powder foundation has already eats up a lot of the space of my small cosmetic bag. Therefore I often ended up with three, one for skin care, another for makeup stuff and last one for toiletries.

Since when I had been wanted to try Dior makeup but every time I was distracted by other brands. Nothing better than a makeup palette that included every makeup essentials, this Collection Voyage gives me more than what I wanted to try from Dior! I got this USD66 at India Indra Ghandi Airport last month. While enjoying the weak US currency at the given time, this makeup kit is very complete and perfect for me.

The makeup palette is made of plastic material that the sleek surface would easily attract the finger print, a little bit bulky (14.1cm x 9.1cm x 2.7cm) and has certain weight. There are two layers of compartment, the upper compartment holds the mascara, eye shadows, compact and lip glosses, whereas lower compartment keeps the eye and lip liners, together with makeup applicator. In order to slide out the lower compartment, you need to push the “Push” button once and then pull it out, once you are done, push the “drawer” back inside until the “Tick” sound is heard.

After trying few pencil eyeliners for few years, I think it was right time to upgrade my makeup skill. Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner received quite a number of raves from several beauty bloggers, as I personally had tried some good products of drugstore line that under prestige brand (Maybelline is owned by L’Oreal), I have no doubt this will be worthy purchase.

It comes with a brush

The creamy gel texture goes on smoothly and non-drying.  Amateur like me, I got to layer few times for intense line. The brush bristle is medium-hard, although I do not feel comfortable when filling the gap of my lashes but I believe the hardness of bristle is helpful for even application.

I got myself brown colour. Thankfully, the brown colour is dark enough. I was indecisive initially, hence I asked the sales assistant either black or brown is looking more natural? And she replied me promptly, brown. I just grabbed the brown then. I should thank her anyway.

It says no crease. I say yes. The creamy texture enabled smooth drawing but I did not draw a full line in one time, and my hand is not shaken. I am not sure about how makeup veteran does, however I believe drawing a fine line need to be carefully done.

It says smudge proof. I do not agree totally. This long-wearing eyeliner would still smudge a little bit for oily eyelids, in very humid climate. I particularly dislike it stained my bottom eyes in mid day of tropical humid weather. It is smudge-free in dry weather or in air-conditioned dry air.

It says, fine or thick line, dries quickly after application. I agree. In normal circumstance, it dries in few minutes that still allow you to do corrective action in case any mistake occurred. And Yes, it is fine for drawing thick line, not really for thin line.

It says resists sweat, tears and water. I say except sebum/oil. As I mentioned, that depends on skin type (less stay put power for oily skin), incident (when eye is flushing with tears, tissue blotting might impart some friction impact and the line is not smudge proof) and climate (humid or dry). I will explain more in below testing Pictures A, B and C.

From the below testing pictures, eyeliner really sharpen your eye or, style your eye shape as you want, especially for dramatic effect. I can only show you the basic one here because I am still a newbie to makeup.

1. Bare and without makeup at all

2. With Maybelline eyeliner applied

3. With Maybelline eyeliner and mascara on

Here are my simple testing pictures for its lasting power. Nevertheless, I have to elaborate further about the water-resistant feature about the Picture B. The eyeliner indeed is water-resistant if you applied directly on “dry” skin (I tested another time to ensure the point). For your info, I had applied body lotion many hours ago (skin had coated with moisturizing lotion), therefore that could be the reason why the eyeliner was not exactly water-resistant in Picture B. The lower part of the line in Picture B was the effort I rubbed harder with water, practically I do not think we would be so rude to our eye, that certainly painful. As a conclusion, this is water-resistant but can be rub off vigorously with water.

On the other hand, oil indeed is useful to remove this eyeliner as shown in Picture B & C but when comes to practical, I still found some dirty trace caught around eye brim after cleansing. That means, I cannot cleanse this properly without help of cotton buds. I guess eye makeup remover should cleanse better.

Click picture to enlarge

A. Draw two lines on skin

B.  I rubbed dampen cotton bud to first line and another bud with oil for second line. The eyeliner was easily removed by oil but I did spend extra effort to remove it with water.

C.  I tried my best to remove them to see if it easily removed. No problem by using oil but it still left a less visible stain on skin by using water.

Overall this is quite good for me but I have a big issue. I have encountered irritated eyes several times because the dry flake of the eyeliner got into my eye which is very painful. Frankly, I have not figured out the actual reason yet, it could be my uneven application in between the gaps of lashes. For that painful and harmful experience, I only use gel eyeliner occasionally, pencil eyeliner is much safer for my casual makeup.

I purchased this for RM32.20/2.8g during 20% off, its normal retail price is RM39.90 in Malaysia. At the time of writing, this is the best reviewed drugstore gel eyeliner that I know, most importantly, it is widely accessible in many countries.

Ingredient:

Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Ceresin, Caprylyl Methicone, Talc, Synthetic Fluorphl Ogopite, Silica Silylate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Calcium Aliminuim Borosilicate, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Propylene Carbonate, Silica, Butylparaben, BHT, Tin Oxide, Aloe Barbadensis Extract/Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, [+/- May contain CI77492, CI77491, CI77499/Iron Oxides, CI77007/Ultramarines, Mica, CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide, Ci 42090/ Blue 1 Lake, CI77288/Chromium Oxide Greens, CI77289/Chromium Hydroxide Green].

I must say I was attracted by the gorgeous spoke person, Ayumi Lee, a Korean born in Japan, also known as former member of Sugar girl group. Her short hair looks amazingly elegant and classy. The overall presentation of Maquillage Rouge Enamel Glamour is simply magnificent.

Try the latest Maquillage cosmetic online via makeup stimulation by Shiseido, it is so much FUN.

This is non-fragranced 2-in-1 lipstick, a rouge (2.1g) on one end and a gloss (3.8g) on the opposite. My colour pick is PK386, a pink with hint of gold shimmer that looks very natural and lavish.

Surprisingly the fluid lipstick is lightweight yet very pigmented. It should be matted on bare lips quickly unless your lips are primed with lip conditioner/lip balm. Wait for the lipstick fully dried on lips, then apply the shiny gloss on centre part of lips to impart translucent 3D glow. The combination assures you enamel glamorous lips, despite the slight tackiness.

The lipstick is thumb-up long-wearing but the gloss was almost gone after having a meal. If you wear lip balm underneath, both lipstick and gloss would wear off totally after eating a proper meal. Anyway, I would be happy to show off the dazzling tube in makeup room for touch-up.

The lipstick is feeling dry (thus long-wearing), fortunately the gloss attracts moisture and diffuses the appearance of dry lip lines. It costs me ~USD30, not a budget purchase considering the tiny net content, it is rather a convenient and pretty one. Personally, I am still preferring even application of  lipstick, thus unlikely to purchase the similar product in future.
