Dr.Ci:Labo Aqua-In-Derm DN-Essence

Posted on: October 22, 2010

According to Dr.Ci:Labo, Aqua-In-Derm DN-Essence assists “penetration” and “effectiveness” to maximize cosmetic effects. “Ultrapure water”, the purest water possible, was chosen to bring out the best intrinsic effects of cosmetics. Unique “e-moment System” that facilitates smoothly ingredient penetration, together with In-Derm Force that temporarily looses the surface barrier by exfoliating dead cells and securing paths for penetration. This simple step enables your skin to feel more effects of skincare.

The clear essence is very lightweight, scentless, non-sticky, easily smoothes over the skin and absorbed by skin quickly. 2~3 squirts for face and neck.

It is the first step of your skin care, after cleansing and before toner/lotion. As I never relied on toner for skin cleansing/refreshing/exfoliating or took toner as astringent, this Aqua-In-Derm DN-Essence could be replacing toner in my skin care routine.

The following Testing A will show this DN-essence is a good hydration booster. Other hydrating product that contains  Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) most probably would be having similar great effect as well.

~:~:~ Testing A~:~:~

(Sunny, hot ~35-37oC, low humidity <50%, room temperature)

Prepared the skin of one hand with this Aqua-In-Derm DN-Essence , then apply Dr.Ci:Labo Photo-White-C Whitening Lotion on the back of both hands, wait for 10 minutes.

(With DN-essence and PWC whitening lotion) – hydration has been maintained.

(With  PWC whitening lotion only) Skin was not capable to retain moisture.

The below Testing B will show you the DN-essence is helpful to enhance penetration of following skin care. Theoretically a moisture-balanced skin can be more receptive.

~:~:~ Testing B ~:~:~

(skin with DN-essence applied) The drop of Chanel essence is quickly sank in and dispersed within 3 minutes.

Wash my hand with soap, gently pat dry, then proceed with the following:

(bare skin) The Chanel essence is difficult to be absorbed by skin within 3 minutes.

To conclude above Testing A and B, in my view, if you have a good product (such as toner/lotion) which acts like hydration booster and able to enhance subsequent skin care penetration, then this Aqua-In-Derm DN-Essence might be nothing special to you. For me, this is very convenient to condition my naturally sensitive, easily dehydrated, combination skin for effective skin care, without causing any comedogenic problem.

As the packaging is vacuum sealed, there is a STAR-sign indicator at the back to remind you when is the right time to replenish stock. When the plastic indicator (shown in above”la la la” picture) started to appear, that means the remaining content will be enough for another 7~10 days usage, until the lower line of the plastic indicator reaches to the STAR level. You might have known how much I love this essence, I just got my second bottle. It is retailing at RM207/SGD90 for 50ml or RM375/SGD158 for 100ml.

Rating: ….)))      Excellent. Willing to buy again.

It sounds like a stellar product and I believe you because Dr.Ci:Labo is a very good brand. I’m using the aqua collagen gel at the moment and am pleased with it as a day moisturizer. Very pricey though, isn’t it?

Haha…astrorainfall,
I totally agree with you, Dr.Cilabo is indeed very pricey. Though not every product works for me but I love their pragmatic formula and their strigent control of production in Japan, so I am willing to pay as long as it is affordable for me, especially this DN-essence. (“v)
