Uriage Peptilys and Isovale Samples Review

Posted on: October 6, 2010

I got several samples of Uriage Peptilys and Isovale series, I think they were reasonably pleasant for sensitive skin, so I decided to post their brief and superficial reviews here, which mainly shared about their textures and moisturizing factor only.

According to Uriage,

  • Peptilys is preventive and correction for early signs of aging, suitable for all skin types. An anti-ageing innovation based on an original tripeptide that adapts to the skin’s needs by stimulating collagen fibres and repairing skin tissue to regenerate skin and fade out wrinkles. Peptilys  protects skin daily from external aggressions, slowing down the effects of time.
  • Isovale is restorative care for mature skin, suitable for normal to dry skin. The Stéroflavone® complex, a unique combination of plant molecules, minimizes the consequences of hormonal ageing, leaving skin firmer and more radiant. Fights actively against the destruction of collagen fibres to restore the firmness of tissues and to re-sculpt the face.

Uriage Peptilys Early Anti-ageing Care

I was totally surprised about its consistency, it simply as nice as some premium brands such as Estee Lauder Hydra Complete Cream, Clarins HydraQuench Cream and Lancôme moisturizers. The sweet fragrance was strong that lingering for quite a while (another similar feature with those premium brands). The cream consistency was moisturizing and leaving powdery smooth skin quickly, no irritation had been noticed, my combination skin also felt comfortable in humid weather. It worked well under sunscreen and makeup too.

Ingredients of Peptilys Early Anti-ageing Care:

Aqua (Water), Uriage Thermal Spring Water, PTFE, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Trimethylolpropane Tricaprylate/Tricaprate, Limnanthes Alba (Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam)) Seed Oil), Corn Starch Modired, Dicapryryl Carbonate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit), Glycerin, Pentaerythrityl Distearate, Niacinamide, Pentylene Glycol, Cetyl Alcohol, Cyclohexasiloxane, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Acrylate/Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Inulin Lauryl Carbamate, Isohexadecane, Steareth-21, Steareth-2, Chlorphenesin, Citric Acid, Polysorbate 80, Parfum (Fragrance), O-Cymen-5-Ol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sorbitan Oleate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Palmitoyl Oligoeptide.

Uriage Peptilys Eye Contour Care

This was fragrance free with emulsion consistency, feeling emollient and easily smoothed over on skin. When it dried out, normally within 10 minutes (it dried very fast in low humidity environment), the film was non-greasy, non-sticky and non-shiny, just a smooth feeling, which was also working well under makeup.

The lightweight consistency was not really giving satisfied moisture as I wanted, thus I applied small amount each time and re-applied whenever necessary, the static fine line was still visible, unlike some eye creams which able to plump up and “hide” the fine line. However, it helped to “hide” the expression fine lines greatly. Also, It was a gentle and non-irritating one. I finished the 4ml eye treatment in 9 days, with applying several times a day. I can imagine the full size 15ml is not very long-lasting in my case.

Ingredients of Peptilys Eye Contour Care:

Aqua (Water), Uriage Thermal Spring Water, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Squalane, Butyrospermum Parkii (Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit), Glycerin, Polyethylene, Propylene Glycol, Polyacrylate-13, Tromethamine, Cetyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Dextran Sulfate, Polyisobutene, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Diazolidinyl Urea, Dimethicone, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Hyaluronate, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Sodium Benzoate, Benzoic Acid, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Hydroxide.

Uriage Isovale Anti-ageing Restorative Care

This one also reminded me of Lancôme moisturizer. Despite I do not like it is tinted, the overall experience was considering pleasant. The fragrance was nice although on strong side, the cream consistency was moisturizing (slightly richer than Peptilys), non-heavy, non-greasy and almost instantly getting matte on skin. It has no coverage and did not add any tone to skin. Do not rub the skin after it being matte, else it pills.
