Kiehls Pineapple Papaya Facial Scrub

Posted on: September 5, 2010

What Kiehl’s says about this, “Leaves skin soft, smooth and even-textured. Natural scrub grains gently exfoliate skin while real fruit extracts leave it refreshed and soft”.

It smells like pineapple, the texture is quite hydrating with some orange-red granules and pineapple fruit extract. Use it on cleansed and damp skin, then scrub this on skin in circular motion, leave it for few minutes before wash it off with clean water, follow by skincare routine. The paste could be rinsed off easily, leaving skin moisturizing, smoother together with minimum redness. Overall there is no irritation occurs, unless I’m overdone the scrubbing part, particularly those orange-red gritty particles of this scrub could be feeling sharp for some people. Frankly speaking, that was hard for me to tell whether the fruit enzymes work or not since it only left on skin for few minutes, perhaps the physical scrubbing was doing the exfoliation.

This is nice to use whenever my skin wasn’t “healthy” enough to perform the stronger exfoliation like Kiehl’s micro-dermabrasion. On the other hand I think it just delivered like normal drugstore facial scrub did, nothing amazing. Anyhow, I love it’s soap-free and feeling moisturizing, additionally it’s also less messy to use than Origins Never A Dull Moment, did I mention its tube-packaging is one of the selling point to me?

If you only ask for an enzymes-enriched exfoliator without demanding a very “clean & clear” skin after using it, this is fine. I normally use it once a week at most and I think it can easily last for a year, by the way I’ve been using it for 6 months already. If you have healthy and thicker skin, you can use it 1~3 times per week or simply get a stronger one for better result.

Rating: ….)))      Good. May buy again.

Hi, have you tried Kiehl’s advanced night serum yet? I wonder if it’s any good! Anyway, I am new here =D

Welcome ashura,
I guess you are talking about the blue bottle Kiehl’s midnight concentrate? I have not tried it yet but would love to get a sample of it next time. (“v)

Sounds like it smells heavenly…I’ve never come across pineapple scented beauty products – yum…

Hi astrorainfall,
Ya… fruit scented skin care is delicious. The scent of this scrub is rather mild compared to L’Occitane. (“v)
