SK-II Facial Treatment Cleanser

Posted on: May 9, 2010

I used to think there is really no necessary to spend on premium facial wash since drugstore facial wash does the cleansing as good as premium’s one. When age increased over years, the skin condition was forcing me to be more critical of every skin care item I used. I suppose my criteria for an ideal facial wash are quite simple: 1) non-soap formulated  2) using high-grade surfactant as detergent 3) feeling good after wash 4) foaming but non-drying 5) within my budget.

Many natural-based facial cleansers on the market fulfill my above mentioned criteria but many of them contain essential oil that might not suitable for sensitive skin. I explored any option available on local market and decided to try SK-II Facial Treatment Cleanser, the samples allowed me to try it for a month.

The consistency is quite creamy and it foams up moderately. Although it contains no additive fragrance but there is a gentle floral scent, which is very pleasurable. When I woke up with oilier skin in morning, this cleansed well and my skin felt no tightness or dryness, comfortable that I need not rush for toning. That is not the squeaky clean of feeling, instead a supple moist skin. However it would cause dryness for second cleansing (after makeup removal) or with warm water or in low-humid weather.

From my below simple cleansing test, generally it has decent cleansing power, good enough for normal cleansing, including the oily residue after my daily oil massage.

Overall I highly satisfied with this Facial Treatment cleanser that I’ll consider to purchase a full size for long-term, I’m waiting for the best deal in year-end. The price THB1700/120g is pricey but can get 10% off during promotion which is acceptable for me still, considering it actually can last several months. Most importantly, that is never easy to find a suitable one as I wanted.
