Charmingkorea Pearl Collagen Mask Sheet

Posted on: April 13, 2010

“You looked like a kid in candy shop”, he teased. I looked at him naively, speechless. There were hundred types of mask at the store that I had no idea which to pick!

Most of them are made in Korea, Japan and Taiwan (ladies of these countries must be crazy over mask). What puzzled me is, there are very few of them listed out full ingredient list in English. This charmingkorea Pearl Collagen Mask Sheet was actually recommended by the sales assistant at Sasa store HK to my SO, for both brightening (his sun spots) and moisturizing. Albeit Pearl Collagen, the Essence mask sheet’s range is also covered different types of treatment. I exchanged few Honeydew melon masks with him, and we actually concluded this collagen mask is more gentle.

From the packaging, the clear essence of this Pearl Collagen Mask contains 210mg pearl extracts and 105mg plant-derived collagen, fragrance-free. Avoid contact with eyes. As usual, used on dry and cleansed skin for 20 minutes then lightly massage the residue into skin after removing the sheet mask. Again, I used the sheet mask for body wiping too. The essence is sticky to touch but the stickiness could be eased in air-conditioned  environment, or after layering with sunscreen/moisturizer. In sultry weather, I simply rinsed it off because the stickiness felt heavy on skin.

The cutting of this barely stretchable sheet mask is a bit funny. Too short vertically, too wide horizontally.

The texture of the sheet mask is thin and woolly, thus 21g essence seems impossible to be fully loaded. But I really love this type of texture, it just stuck onto skin steadily throughout the mask time.

My face looked slightly even up and fairly moisturized after the mask application, no WOW factor but in love with the supple skin. Practically, the hydrating effect was temporary for first few hours, but comparing with some local drugstore budget sheet masks, this has much better quality.

All in all, the price is overwhelming, HKD48/10 sheets. This has 4 years shelf life stated on packaging, I bet the turnover rate is far less than 4 years for the value, mine is fresh stock. Only wish I have a multi-language reader to translate the ingredient list next time.
