SHU UEMURA White Recovery EX+ Brief Review

Posted on: March 3, 2010

I received sample of Shu uemura White Recovery EX+ series from a beauty magazine. The  White Recovery EX+ is incorporating natural plants power and technology, aiming translucent, radiant skin like petal.

All products of White Recovery EX+ series have pleasant floral fragrance. Due to the tiny samples size, I tested them twice only, so my reviews are very superficial here, not even dare to mention the whitening effect. The range is very complete,  beside cleansing oil, lotion, essence and cream that I sampled, it also included emulsion for oilier skin, exfoliator, instant spot brightener, sheet mask and powder foundation.

White Recovery EX+ Whithening Lotion (150ml)

This lotion contains plant’s AHAs in order to gently remove dead skin cells, accelerating the absorption of subsequent skin care. It was watery clear and absorbed into skin rapidly. No stickiness, no discomfort feeling but it highlighted my broken capillaries a little bit.

Ingredients:

Sea Water, Alcohol, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Aqua/Water, PPG-10 Methyl Glucose Ether, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Tocoperyl Acetate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Prunus Yedoensis Leaf Extract, Hydrolyzed Prunus Domestica, Vaccinium Myrtillus Extract, Saccharum Officinarum Extract/Sugar Cane Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Extract/Orange Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica Limonium Extract/Lemon Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharinium Extract/Sugar Maple Extract, Arginine, Citric Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Methylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Benzyl Salicylate, Parfum/Fragrance.

White Recovery EX+ Advanced Whitening Essence (30ml)

This is enriched with Ellagic Acid to inhibit the melanin, it claims 24.1% reduction of dark spot size in 4 weeks, 37% in 8 weeks (average testing result on 44 women). The essence was dewy emulsion like, very runny on skin but once it absorbed into skin, skin looked mattifying and non-greasy. Not exactly moisturizing, but suitable for oilier skin as well. The texture simply reminded me of Kanebo Whitening Conclusion.

Ingredients:

Sea Water, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Isocetyl Stearate, Laureth-7, Caprylic, Butylene Glycol, Capric Triglyceride, Calcium Pantetheine Sulfonate, Aqua/Water, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polyacrylamide, Ellagic Acid, Lactic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Benzyl Salicylate, Fagus Sylvatica Extract, Chlorphenesin, Methylparaben, Hexyl Cinnamal, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Xanthan Gum, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Geraniol, Sodium Hexametaphosphate, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Benzyl Benzoate, Prunus Yedoensis Leaf Extract, Parfum, Fagus Sylvatica Bud Extract, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hydrolyzed Prunus Domestica, Linalool, Citronellol.

White Recovery EX+ Whitening Cream (30g)

This was moisturizing one. With light dewy cream texture, it was very spreadable. Small amount was sufficient for oilier skin. When I applied the cream slight heavily, a tad sticky to touch and the moisturizing film needed longer time to be fully settled. It gives subtle glowing skin, basically more on mattifying side.
