Dior Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Eye Treatment

Posted on: February 18, 2010

Christian Dior certainly takes the cosmetic division seriously. Capture Totale is transcendent anti-aging collection by Parfums Christian Dior, incorporating Dior’s exclusive science technology for more beautiful skin. I’m interested in their skin care, meanwhile I also concern they are way complicated for my sensitive skin, hence sample is really a good option here.

According to Dior, Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Eye Treatment intensely corrects all visible signs of aging and helps recreate the deep radiance of a visibly younger skin. It targets those have shown first sign of aging for intensive anti-aging eye treatment.

The texture is lovely. It’s somewhere between fluid and cream, so I’ll call it emulsion like. Yet, feeling rich and absorbs quickly by skin with finger patting method. The moisturizing film isn’t greasy at all which eye makeup can clings easily over it. Fragrance is florally but unnoticeable most of the time. Still, I prefer non-fragranced eye care.

My eye contours were well moisturized, perhaps in perfect way. All I need was only a rice size amount and patting with a light finger for few seconds to get the light cream settled. Loving the superior moisturizing effect, I could simply omit an eye cream afterward or no necessary to re-apply like my other eye creams. Nevertheless, in very drying winter month, sadly the reapplication still required.

As I only used sample size for nearly a week, I couldn’t tell if it improved any aging signs, though moisturizing factor was always my priority. By having proper moisturized eye area, my fine lines at least became less visible immediately upon laughing, and that actually persisted for whole day. No irritation, no warming/burning sensation, a comfortable eye care experience instead. Really, I was highly satisfied.

Nevertheless, I don’t think it reduced puffiness. For me, if there was no improvement on eye puffiness in few days, then it wouldn’t be in long term. Mine is more on aging sign. According to expert, none of the eye cream could get rid of it and only can be eliminated by plastic surgery. However, I can still hoping an anti-aging care will eventually tighten the eye contour a little bit, subsequently reduces the puffiness. Most importantly, delay (or prevent?) the wrinkle forming.

Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Eye Treatment claimed it helps with the radiance of eye area. Apparently I didn’t notice that at all, most probably I don’t have visible dark eye circles. However, my pictures below may show you it actually does help a little bit. Any eye care that contains mica can impart such minor effect. You may think the shimmer was due to the moisturizing film, but that was because my limited photography skill couldn’t captured the detail, in reality the peraly-shimmer was visible under dim light.

Finger patting the eye treatment on skin

The moisturizing film (circled) settled for about 10 minutes. Comparing to bare skin, there were subtle shimmers in fact.

Lastly, amongst all eye care I’ve tried so far, this has one of the lightest consistency, smallest amount to be needed for each application and delivered highly satisfiable moisturizing effect. It completely changed my narrow perception that thicker texture will give better moisturization. I truly impressed and enjoyed each application very much. Only the ingredient list keep me hesitated. I’ve few eye cream samples on hand now, in case I don’t meet my ideal one after enough try, I’ll purchase this one (THB3150/15ml).

hi! why does the ingredient list make you hesitate? based on your review and the price, this seems like a tempting option. i tried a sample of la prairie cellular eye contour, and it sure was very moisturizing! but it costs like THB5,000 for a 15ml bottle

Hi erin,
Glad to hear from ü again.

The ingredient list seems to be too complicated to me. Moreover the alcohol and fragrance contains higher (or equal) % than many skin care ingredients, plus the preservatives even higher % than anti-aging peptides in the list, all that kept me hesitating. At least, I had tried Estee Lauder Re-nutriv sample (I’ll post the review next month) which delivers similar moisturizing result and has better looking ingredient list, but EL’s costs much higher.

However, this Dior Multi-perfection has excellent packaging (sealed) to preserve the goodness of ingredients, so based on the nice experience of usage, I’m willing to return if not finding an ideal one in future. Meanwhile I’m also thinking to give Caudalie eye&lip serum a try since it has the sealed, pump packaging too. La Prairie is certainly pricey and premium. I want to try those medium-priced first before I consider to venture into premium one because I believe a good product doesn’t neceassary to be too pricey. “V
