Kanebo Impress Lotion and Emulsion

Posted on: February 5, 2010

Impress is  premium skin care line of Kanebo and it has pleasant aromatic citrus fragrance which powered by 16 natural fragrances. Amid the range, the most popular Impress lotion had been voted as best lotion in Japan by several beauty magazines. Kanebo Impress range is technology-backed anti-aging treatment that targets DNA repairing, improves wrinkle and pigmentation, firm up and rejuvenate for a lively younger skin. According to Kanebo.

Kanebo Impress Lotion II (THB3500/150ml)

There is 2 types of the Impress lotion, Type I for Fresh and Type II for Moist and smooth. The watery clear lotion was feeling lightweight with tiny viscous, absorbed by skin in a short while, keeping skin hydrated without tackiness. It was also not being provocative to my sensitive skin in the fickle moment, hence gentle enough. Besides, I tried it for 5 minutes “lotion mask” (lotion+cotton pads) as well. The instant moisturizing effect was average, perhaps the tiny viscous consistency was not suitable for lotion mask. Personally I think this is gentle, soothing and very moisturizing. Concerning the expensive price tag, I doubt if it worths the value.

Kanebo Impress Emulsion II (THB4400/100ml)

The sample given is Type II, which has lightweight milky consistency. The emulsion quickly settled a moisturizing film on skin, leaving skin moist and soft. No tackiness and totally comfortable. It reminded me of the texture of Chanel and Shiseido emulsions. The moisture was quite enough for my combination skin  in air-conditioned room when used together with Impress lotion II. Applying too much could lead to clog pore. After all, the consistency is loveable, best for day use because it contains chemical sunscreen (Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate). If the lotion was not high-priced and contained unfavorably ingredients, I would love to purchase one to try it deeper.

Hi, I saw your review on these two items and I wanna ask can they heal acne. I mean I think I have dehydrated sensitive oily skin and it is kinda imflamed too coz the pores looks red. Can I use them?

Hi Louis,
Thanks for stopping by.

I afraid I am not the best person to advise you because I never tried it for acne. Although both Kanebo Impress products were feeling gentle for my non-inflamed sensitive skin, but I suggest you to avoid any high treatment skin care when your skin was inflamed. Try those developed for sensitive skin to calm, soothe and heal the inflamation first. If possible, get sample for trying as they are way too pricey. Since your skin is oily, you might want to try Type I instead of Type II. (“v)

Oh thanks a lot for that 😀

Hi! are these “impress” lines are made from natural ingredients? cause they put more than 3 types of paraben there.. :s I’d love to try the cleansing cream first and then the emulsion 🙂 will it be okay not to use everything in the line?

Hi Sanny,
As you can see the full ingredient lists in my reviews, Kanebo Impress lines is not 100% made from natural ingredients. Besides parabens, there are also non-natural synthetic ingredients.

Although Kanebo SA probably will tell you to get a full series for optimal result but for me, it is absolutely okay not to use everything in the line. Yes, you can use the cleansing cream and emulsion only. Just a friendly reminder, the cleansing cream is a makeup remover not a facial cleanser. (“v)

Thanks a lot! 😀 this is my 2nd time stopping by your blog tee hee 🙂
