MUJI Pressed Powder

Muji Pressed Powder

Foundation is an amazing quick fix. My skin however, looks much natural with light powder after all the skin care effort in recent years. Loose powder sometimes can be quite messy and has inhalation issue, pressed powder seems a good option. This Muji pressed powder looks pretty shimmering and it has yellow shade, which suits me better than pinkish tone, most importantly, it is less drying.

The packaging is transparent and clean, feel a little bit boring and unattractive sometimes. The shimmers is very fine that every time I only dab tiny powder to blot the whole face. It imparts soft radiance skin, keeping my skin stay away from oily shine yet non-over drying. It has sheer coverage due to the slight creamy texture, but applying a thick layer of this powder will possibly end up a chalky pale skin and more drying, hence this is suitable for those who don’t urge for coverage.

For imperfect skin like mine, this type of texture is quite tricky. It hardly fill the pore for concealing, as well as fine lines.  Overall this Muji pressed powder only works fine when my skin condition is very good. As shown in above picture, my hand is dry and the powder didn’t smooth out the line, while usually very finely-milled powder can instantly smooth out the skin texture to a minor degree.

Besides, the makeup puff is not soft enough for me, but it has no problem to pick up the powder. Basically all Muji pressed powders, including lucent pressed powder (both lucent white and honey beige, for intense highlighting) and loose powder contains superb intense pearly-shimmers. On the other side, Muji foundation powder and liquid foundation have no visible pearly shimmers. Apparently the shimmers are extremely visible, yet not ostentatious when applying on skin.

With such a tiny amount used each times, the 8.5g Muji pressed powder is going to last me very very long time. It costs me THB506 after 15% discount, not something fantastic, but comfortable enough for drier skin. As this is makeup item, I have high expectation that  it should make the skin more appealing regardless any skin condition, so my search for good finishing powder continued.

Rating: ….)))     Satisfied. Will not buy again.

what is the different between pressed and loose powder? Is it something close to compact powder? I can see the shimmer on your hand. I don’t like shimmered powder, it’s too bling bling to be used daily

Hi mapple,
Ya…the pressed powder is something similar to compact powder, only named differently.

The shimmers are actually very unnoticeable with sunlight. The picture had been taken under a dim light in order to bring out the shimmers to my reader. Personally I just love powders with shimmer, they give radiant finish. “v
