L'Occitane Shea UC mask

I have a small tube of this mask and it is recommended to apply twice a week to face and neck, leaving for 10-15 minutes, and then gently remove any excess with a dry issue. Besides, the emollient mask has very fade natural scent of ingredient which I please with.

My first trial ended up with big disappointment. It did nothing to improve the skin texture. Gratefully, I noticed the skin was softer at later time, intrigued me to try again. Pondering the ingredient list whether this type of cream mask is meant for overnight mask treatment, so I decided to adapt the method on second trial, third trial, fourth trial…….

When skin was droughty like desert, I quenched my skin with a soothing lotion before the mask application. As I stored this mask inside fridge, so I would warm up the cream in palms before massaged a generous layer onto skin, avoid eye area. The cream would melt and absorb into skin in a short while and leaving a sticky film. Wait for 20-30 minutes, then tissue off the excess with damp cotton pad. Presto! Moisturized and refined skin texture!

When I used it as overnight mask (after lotion and essential face oil), it soothed the tingle and minor nose flaky in slow pace but not completely in overnight. I noticed no breakout, no blackheads, 1-2 oil zits and a plump, comfortable soft skin on the next morning. I did that for continuous 4 days and stopped exfoliation for a week, the skin irritation that caused by over-exfoliating had slowly improved as well as the redness. Eventhough the skin is quite oily in the next morning when used it as overnight mask, but after a face wash, I love the refreshing complexion.

Thankfully, because of the experience, I know my skin is able to tolerate waxy texture. However, I would say the moisturizing effect is really so-so if the skin is not “Sahara dry”. Shea & Organic Cotton Ultra Comforting Mask is retailing at THB1850 for 75ml, pricey, fortunately I received this as a complimentary gift. Despite it is comfortable and calming to use and fairly moisturize, I rather be more straight forward to get a good moisturizer.
