EL Optimizer

Two boosting lotions of Estee Lauder Optimizer series, pore minimizing (with black bamboo extract) and anti-wrinkle/lifting (with sasa bamboo extract). The Optimizer Boosting Lotion is suitable for all skin types, formulating for Asian’s skin and made in Japan. Ideally, it works effectively with Estee Lauder wrinkle correcting Repair serum to boost the targeted benefit, according to Estee Lauder.

With Ion-balanced water that rich in minerals and electrolytes, Japan Sasa bamboo extract that rich in flavonoid and known for its ability to help neutralize environmental irritants, Optimizer Anti-Wrinkle/Lifting Boosting Lotion leaves skin hydrated, luminous, soft and prepare optimal state to receive maximum benefit from the serum. Claim by Estee Lauder.

Notably the lotion is watery clear, giving the illusion it looks blueish in the blueish transparent plastic container. Somehow it has viscous consistency which is very runny and feeling slippery smooth on skin. Seriously, with a cotton pad, I would still able to tell how slippery the lotion was. This is strongly fragranced, refreshing soapy scent to me. The container’s spout is sealed by a plastic film and I just made a small hole for easier spill control, this lotion simply expensive!

Probably the viscous consistency, this lotion didn’t absorb into skin instantly unless the skin is severe dehydrated, furthermore it leaves skin tiny tacky sometimes. If you are willing to spare a minute with the lotion, the tackiness will gone and replaced by dry smooth skin. After trying cotton pad for application for a month, I realized using hands is better for lotion absorption. Additionally, I also tried this for “lotion mask” once, and I didn’t find it good for moisturizing in that way.

In term of the texture and result, this is a moisturizing lotion that comparable to a lightweighted hydrating serum. My skin was obviously more hydrating for first few hours compare to none. Therefore, no problem to use this all year round in Bangkok. Somehow this was not soothing when skin was ultra sensitive, it stung a little bit upon application especially my skin was over exfoliated or simply sensitive, though the mild tingle had gone within a minute. In such case, a soothing fragrance-free lotion is my best company.

I have been using this for nearly 4 months now, it reached the base finally. Concerning the steep price, normal retail price THB2000 for 200ml, I do not think I will re-purchase, moreover, I do not really get used to the slippery consistency.

Rating: ….)))  Satisfied  Satisfied. Will not buy again.
