L’ORÉAL Paris UV Care Brief Reviews

I admired the stunning Lancome Blanc Expert Ambassador, Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann. Her fascinating translucent fairness imparts in the ads totally overwhelming, that’s why I must embeded her picture at least once in my post.
L’Oreal has patented Mexoryl XL (Drometrizole Trisiloxane) and Mexoryl SX (Terephthalylidene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid) for their products such as L’Oreal, Vichy, La Roche-Posay, Biotherm, Lancome … etc. I got some samples for the following UV protectors as part of GWP. Couldn’t locate the pictures of Vichy’s and L’Oreal’s, so I discard the pictures of Lancôme’s too, but attached their pictures of the content.
Vichy Aqualia Thermal UV SPF15+ PPD18 (50ml, 1200 baht)
The white lotion is lightweight, moisturizing and is very easy to spread over face. It builds up a smooth film on skin almost instantly. Face looked fresh with little glow, absolutely no white residue. Fragrance is also too mild to be noticed. The UVA protection, PPD (Persistent Pigment Darkening) rating is new to me, recently I have learnt from a magazine that PPD8 already provides PA+++ of UVA protection theoretically, thus with PPD18, I expected it provides more UVA protection.
So far I haven’t sense any irritation from the Aqualia Thermal UV lotion since I only used twice, I suppose the moisturizing base help to ease the irritation? Perhaps I just didn’t use it long enough.

Lancôme UV Expert NeuroshieldTM UV-Polution Make up Base SPF30 PA++ [new formulated 2009] (30ml, 1950 baht)
Tested on Asian sensitive skin and providing 12 hours UV protection, prevents skin darkening, pigmentation and aging, marked by Lancome. Dewy consistency, mild fragrance, easily spread over, attaches to skin almost instantly, lighten skin tone immediately, not tacky, no oily shine but only luminous smooth skin.
I’ve tried Lancome tinted moisturizer and liquid foundation in the past, I must say I’ve not disappointed yet of how they create a beautiful skin canvas. The pale beige-rose shade of the makeup base matched my skin tone well. It has minimal coverage, quite drying that might not suitable for dry skin, T-zone start to shine in afternoon. Use twice, no irritation noticed.

L’Oreal UV Perfect Longlasting UVA/UVB Protector SPF50 PA+++ (new-light fluid) (30ml, 299 baht)
I got the purple color for anti-dullness. The popular purple color amid white, pink and purple is the one always out of stock in supermarket here. Enriched with a powerful Anti-oxidant complex and Active-Cell, to reinforce protection against free radicals and better shield cells, elastin and collagen fibers, clause by L’Oreal.
This is not exactly fluid consistency but rather dewy lightly cream texture to me, appears gray-purple, easily to spread, leaving a sheen shinning film on skin. Slightly tacky even after 15 minutes but still serves as good make-up base for powder/liquid foundation. It’s water-resistant, moisturizing and take a while to settle the protective film.
My skin didn’t suffer irritation except redness from it after two applications. Since it caused redness to me, definitely not suitable for my sensitive skin.

Overall I like the fresh consistency of Vichy Aqualia Thermal UV and the luminous finish by Lancome UV Expert Neuroshield makeup base. As I always try to avoid any UV protectors that using chemical sunscreen component as main ingredients, so I will not purchase a full size product for UV protector.
