Chanel White Essentiel Whitening Modeling Effect Base SPF30/PA+++ (30 Azur)

I always wanted to try the tone-correction makeup primier, finally got one. White Essentiel Whitening Modeling Effect Base has Mimosa (beige) helps to correct redness, Rosée (pink) awakens the complexion with healthy glow and Azur (blue) lights up the complexion with sheer finish. Notably no apparent difference between them when  I tested the other two colours at beauty counter.

Shake before use. White Essentiel Whitening Modeling Effect Base in Azur appears pale blue and fully loaded with MILLIONS fine glittering particles, thus only small amount is enough. The consistency is easy to spread, neither moisturizing nor drying. The finish is instantly luminous, dewy, sculpturing and leave minimum white residue if you use tiny.

If use too much of amount, those shimmering particles were exceedingly  obvious under white light/sunlight when you look the face closely, though the particles look very fine. Nonetheless, before I continue to next makeup step, I’ll wash my hand with cleanser to remove those glitter particles  otherwise those glitter-particles are really capable to stain everywhere I touched.

Those glittering particles adhere well all day long, which mean to give you luminous and radiant base entire day. The coverage is very sheer, has light-diffusing pigments to diffuse the skin flaws rather than conceal. The sebum controlling power is not impressed. I also couldn’t justify the whitening effect but the high SPF definitely is a plus.

Initially I intended to serve it as a primer cum sunblock, realized later if I applied a tablespoon of Whitening Modeling Effect Base on face & neck, my base makeup will become dreadful high-voltage sparkling, unless I topped up with a matted foundation. Best way for me is to take a small amount and mix with a tablespoon of my usual milky sunblock, that gives me natural luminous effect too. Not sure if I will re-purchase because many foundations nowadays have already pearly micro-beads embedded.

Bought it at RM158 for 30ml during the business trip to Malaysia. Expensive, which normal for Chanel cosmetic, the rubber container also light for travel.  Do I tell you the fragrance reminded me of bubble gum, sweet and delightful?

Update on 31/01/2010: Eventhough I only took this a drop to mix with my other milky sunblock, but it seemed to cause a second irritation for my sensitive skin. If you have irritated skin, please take note of this. Thanks.

Rating: … ))) good  Good. May buy again.
