Olive is well-known of its vitamin riches and antioxidant power to protect skin damage from photo-aging. I received Olive Leaf sample gift while registered as DHC Olive Club member in my DHC haul. As told by the beauty consultant, this is an anti-aging series for all types of skin. The sample gift set includes Olive soap, Olive Leaf Lotion, Olive Leaf Milk and Deep Cleansing Oil.
Olive Soap
I was doubtful of the value when I get to know the 90g Olive soap sells 850 baht in Thailand. The soap creates generous lathers easily, leaves my skin squeaky clean after wash. It also fragrance-free, gentle on sensitive and dry complexions. When use as body soap, it’s non-drying like normal soap though still required body lotion after bath.
Ingredients:
Water, Sucrose, Olea Europaea (olive) Fruit Oil, Lauric acid, Myristic Acid, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Olea europaea (olive) Leaf Extract, Palmitic Acid, Behenic Acid, Tetrasodium Etidronate
Olive Leaf Lotion
The lotion is liquidity and really moisturizing, leaving my skin silky smooth to touch.
Ingredients:
Water, Butylene Glycol, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Sodium PCA, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Trehalose, Serine, Methylparaben, Placental Protein, Citric Acid, Allantoin, Sodium Citrate
Olive Leaf Milk
This is thicky milk texure, feel alike yogurt. Skin feel emoilient upon application. Not enough for very dry skin in cool season but surely sufficient for dry-oily skin in hot season.
Ingredients:
Water, Butylene Glycol, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Stearic Acid, Squalane, Lanolin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Placental Protein, Behenyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Phenoxyethanol, PEG-10 Soy Stearol, Tocopherol, Carbomer, Potassium Hydroxide, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate, Retinyl Palmitate, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Tricalcium Phosphate, Silica, Acetyl Tyrosine, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Zinc Oxide, Silver, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract
The ingredient of Olive Leaf series look pretty good to me, besides it’s fragrance-free, minimal preservatives, it is also combining both nourishing and potent antioxidant ingredients for effective anti-aging care. However, from the reviews of MakeupAlly, many are suffer breakout from this series. If look at its ingredient list, the olive leaf series compacted with high content of nourishing ingredients like Olive oil, Squalane and Lanolin, these are potentially comdogenic. Thus I strongly recommend it for dry skin people only.
Based on my past experiences, I could foresee my skin will suffer clog pores or breakout if I continue to use the series for a period. The price range for the series from 1480 to 1980 baht, very expensive in DHC product range. Thankful to DHC free sample policy, I can always test before waste on unsuitable product.
Hereby I enclosed also the ingredients of Olive Leaf Extract and Olive Leaf Cream to complete the Olive Leaf Series.
