Facial Washing Powder Comparison

Facial washing powder usually found in Japan skincare. I had strange infatuation for powder type facial wash, I think they have good cleansing power, usually non-drying, usually gentle to use, less possibility to buy the wrong one, less chemical… etc.

*HABA Powder Wash – 80g/S$ 37

The powder is not as finely-milled compares to the other powders in this post but totally gentle to skin even it has mild exfoliation property. It doesn’t foam very much, but generated foam are sufficient to cleanse face well. My skin feel clean and moist then. Haba skincare didn’t contain perservative according to their ingredient list but there is no indication for the product safety period like Fancl. I bought the 80g and finished it after 6 months, no idea if it safe to use after two months though I didn’t experience any irritation from it.

Ingredients:
Microcrystalline Cellulose, Sodium Lauryl Phosphate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Water, Lauryl Betaine, Sodium Lauroyl Methylaminopropionate, Squalane, Papain

 

*FANCL Washing Powder ( Normal & Light ) – 50g/600 baht

I haved used both normal and light version. The normal version is for normal to dry skin whereas light version  is for normal to oily skin. Powder is very finely-milled, Fancl recommended use a puff to create more foam, however I was using my hands instead of puff because I couldn’t assure myself that the puff will not be make home by bacterias. By using hands, powder also creates creamy foam well to cleanse my face easily. The moisturing version leaves skin very smooth and moisture while the light version gives fresher skin.  I like both versions, in fact I favoured normal version for my combination skin because my skin is more hydrated with daily use.

Since Fancl skincare is preservative-free, the facial wash should be use within 60 days once opened. (1 year from manufacturing date if unopened and sealed) I was using twice a day, still unable to finish the 50g in 60 days, so I use as generous as possible each time. By the way, using puff or foaming ball will required more powder each time, also take note not to use hot water to lather the washing powder because they are corn starch based which will cause lumpy with hot water. Overall, a little bit expensive because of the due date, but definitely worth the price.

Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Mannitol, Glucose, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Sodium Palmoyl Glutamate, Sodium Lauroyl Aspartaye, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Talc, Agar, Serine, Allantoin, Dextran Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride.

Mannitol, Sodium Palmoyl Glutamate, Glucose, Potassium, Myristoyl Glutamate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Pullulan,  Sodium Lauroyl Aspartaye, Potassium Myristate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Serine,  Allantoin, Dextran Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride.

 

 

*KOSE Sekkisei White Powder Wash – 100g/1100 baht

So far, this is the only facial powder wash that gives me taut feeling after cleansing which I dislike. The powder is fraganced, powder is very fine, foaming very well, cleansing power is good, but taut. Besides, this included whitening ingredients which different from other washing powders that I tried but that’s not important to me for a cleanser.  The powder can last me 8 months, I use in evening only, too drying for me to use in morning.

Ingredients:
Talc, Sodium Myristate, Potassium Myristate, Sodium Laurate, Potassium Laurate, Sodium Palmitate, Potassium Palmitate, Lauric Acid, Water (Aqua), Angelica Acutiloba Root Extra, Coix Lacryma-Jobi (Job’s Tears) Seed Extract, Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract, Polyphosphorylcholine Glycol Acrylate, Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Methylparaben, Fragrance (Parfum)

Rating :  … )))    So so. Will not buy again.

Personally I prefer non-fragranced facial wash powder like Haba and Fancl. Haba is not available in Thailand yet, but Fancl make me no regret of it.
