KOSÉ – Serum/Essence Reviews
Posted November 6, 2008on:
I really spent a lot of money in Kose last year, including high-raved essence or serum.
* Astalution Wrinkle Essence
Formulated with Astaxanthin that highly raved by beauty magazines when it launches in 2006. The orange color essence is very moisturizing, thick consistency that only a pump was enough. Apply too much could be too heavy for my combination skin. The essence packed in sturdy glass container to avoid degrade of the precious Astaxanthin.
According to. Kose, Astaxanthin’s anti-oxidant power is 500 times power than Vitamin E and 150 times than Coenzyme Q10. My skin did feel tightness upon application as Kose claims this essence to give skin firmness and resilience. Despite the moisturizing and tightness, I did not see a visible improvement of my fine lines. The pricing is affordable at RM155 for 30ml.

* Moisture Skin Repair With Rice Extract Serum
Recommended by Beauty consultant for sensitive skin. The mild fraganced opauge fluid serum did not irritated my skin yet comfortable and calming. PersonalIy I do not think this is good for sensitive skin in long term use because it contains alcohol still. My dehydrated skin didn’t seem to improve better then. RM150 for 50ml.

* Beaute de Kose Pore Serum
White-emulsion consistency, light weighted and settle easily. Pores did look slightly smaller but not amazing after application. However It has good sebum-controlling power that my oily spots keep matted. I only use this occasionally, still can not finish after 1 year because I think it is unnecessary. I bought this on whim. 31g, RM158.
Water, Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, Alcohol, Silica, Dipropylene Glycol, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Butylene Glycol, Mineral Oil, Dimethicone/ Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Hydroxyproline, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Seed Extract, Saccharomyces Lysate Extract, Theanine, Acrylates/ C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Cholesterol, Isohexadecane, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Polyisoprene, Polysorbate80, Sodium Acrylate/ Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Sorbitan Oleate, Methylparaben, Fragrance(Parfum), Alumina, Titanium Dioxide (CI77891)
Kose tends to include alcohol in most of their products like most of the Japanese cosmetic company did. Alcohol in skincare aimed to kill bacteria and give refreshing feeling, but then it seem more suitable for oily skin. I just wish I can aware the important of understanding of detailed ingredient list before I purchased Kose to avoid unsuitable product.
