Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Protective Emulsion SPF15 PA++ (2010 Formula)
Posted on: January 27, 2011
For some reasons, many Asia cosmetics were adopting the word “Brightening” instead of “Whitening”, especially those marched towards international market. I guess any skin colour would love to embrace bright and clear skin.
This 2010 reformulated verson is to replace the Shiseido previous version, White Lucent Brightening Protective Moisturizer SPF16 PA++. I received this 15ml travel size as free gift with purchase and I used coin size for face and neck normally.
The pleasant floral scent is not overpowering and the emulsion is milky rich, emollient and easily smoothing over skin. Due to its moisturizing consistency, it might take a short while (~5-10 minutes) to dry out in humid weather, leaving skin slightly shine (when skin is oily-combi) or glowing (when skin is normal-dry). According to Shiseido, this is suitable for oily to normal skin.
As you have known from the title, this is a brightening day moisturizer, it included benefits of chemical sunscreen, brightening care, antioxidant and moisturizing. However, the complicated formula is really not my cup of tea because that means the chance of getting irritation is also increased. I did not sense any skin irritation from using it in first few days, nevertheless, my inner cheek started to feel stingy uncomfortably in afternoon on following days, yet I did not expose directly under sun. After feeling the irritation for two days, I decided to skip this and used another sunscreen on next day, no irritation had been noticed then. Later I just finished it like body lotion. In summary, this is not suitable for very sensitive skin and hard to tell if it really helped brightening.
Last but not least, it is non water or sebum resistant but is fine for casual sun exposure. The full size product comes with content 75ml and it costs USD64 ~ 86 in Asia.
