KOSÉ Sekkisei Supreme Washing Cream
Posted on: August 15, 2009

Getting bored of fragrance-free powder wash, so I was considered to get a nice fragranced cleanser for evening use. I bought this because it is part of the special promotion set together with the refining lotion, not a wise decision, simply shop on whim due to the very inviting price, also because I love the beautiful spokeperson, Nanako Matsushita.

I had good experience with Beaute de Kose White Succeed washing cream, so I was actually expecting Sekkisei Supreme washing cream will be the same. Notably, I’m right. Only required small amount, the Sekkisei Supreme washing cream can transforms into a rich, generous and creamy lather effortless, with subtle floral fragrance, leaving cleansing process relaxing and enjoyable. Skin is soft, smooth, squeaky clean, but quite drying since it is soap based, so I reserve this for summer evening use only.

I have done a simple test to estimate the cleansing power. From the test result, comparing to Clinique rinse-off foaming cleanser which can remove the lipstick thoroughly, this only about 90%. In other word, this is not as strong as Clinique’s one. In fact I think this is quite gentle, but I must always remind myself to cleanse in proper way ( the cleansing starts from oily T-zone) that I have learnt from a magazine.

Sequence: from right to left
Never expect the brightening effect from a whitening facial cleanser. Technically, whitening ingredients must penetrate into dermis to have the effect, so what could be expecting since the ingredients never stays on skin more than a minute in cleansing process. I bought this not because of whitening, purely I enjoy the rich creamy lathers like most Japanese facial foam, feel like skiing above the clouds. If you are looking for brightening face wash, mild exfoliating cleanser with main ingredient enzyme/AHA/BHA is your answer, be careful not everyone can use this type of cleanser.
Normal retail price of Sekkisei Supreme washing cream is 1100 baht for 130ml (or 140g), I bought it at special promotional price 746 baht. Not recommend to those have sensitive skin.
